When you sell something you claim is of value, when in fact you're fully aware that it has limited value (or, in this case, no value at all), you're guilty of fraud.
It's a crime. Look it up.
If you're saying people who lost their shirts believing in the lies of someone they should never have trusted, well, I agree with you. Such people are the lifeblood of many industries. State lotteries couldn't exist without people believing they can beat the odds; but state lotteries aren't lies.
And he should go to prison for this. How many people spent a substantial portion of their life savings on this snake oil? How many absolute, blatant, relevant lies did he tell? Thousands?
Let's start with a couple favorites: (1) claiming there were 60,000 NP-1s in the retail chain within days of showing up at Best Buy, and (2) claiming that audits of NTEK were being conducted and would soon be complete, allowing NTEK to leave the pink sheets.
We're on about the 6th year of audits being days from being completed.
