The "new" Sears is not a public corporation. The shell that the SHLDQ shares represent will continue to exist while the funds that ESL paid into it are distributed among various secured and unsecured creditors.

Once that's settled (and it may take a while) the shell will be dissolved and the shares trading as SHLDQ will be cancelled.

SHLDQ shares are completely disconnected from any future success or failure of Sears/K-Mart. SHLDQ shares are zombie shares.
