Companies can show value in those assets but are they functional and producible to generate income? There exists land with mineral interest that has value and has never been produced. You also have to see and believe the reserve reports to justify those values. I don't think stockholders would have access to that info, understand it and would be "trusting" the company's numbers. The company could get their stock actively trading with this "info" as a background. I've talked to CPA's who don't understand the data backing up "the numbers". Their job is simply to do financial accounting math with those numbers.
