More bad news for Empire Energy. Extensive bushfires in Tasmania have very likely burnt out the two drilling rigs hidden in the forest waiting for the word from Mal to spring into action. This unfortunate development will have put in doubt the $13.5 million funding he had almost stitched up and further delayed by a couple more years the development of the huge oil and gas resources he says are there waiting to be piped to market.

Empire seems to be constantly dogged by bad luck in its mission of trying to make the shareholders as wealthy as the sheiks of a rich Arab oil state. It's almost as though God has abandoned Mal and Lucifer is messing with the company just for the heck of it. The burning bush was not meant to destroy the drilling rigs. Mal needs to make another visit to Mount Sinai and demand to know what is going on.
