Globalstar seeking workers at new Covington facility
By: CityBusiness staff reports February 1, 2019 0

Globalstar is looking to add employees as it moves into a new headquarters building in Covington.

The mobile-satellite voice and data services provider has scheduled a career fair on Feb. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Covington, located at 350 Holiday Square Blvd. on the northwest corner of Interstate 12 and U.S. Highway 190.

Interested candidates can apply online before or after the job fair at Globalstar.com/careers.

The company is looking for applicants interested in customer relations positions, which provide information about company products and services and work to resolve customers’ challenges. Available positions include customer relations specialists and bilingual customer relations specialists fluent in Spanish, French or Portuguese.

Hiring will begin after the job fair, a news release said. Applicants will go through a job-screening and pre-employment assessment process. The company’s facility is staffed 24 hours per day with varying shifts.

Globalstar, which announced in 2010 it would relocate from California to Louisiana, begins moving into its recently completed headquarters building this month. It’s a 60,000-square-foot building on Holiday Square Boulevard, near the company’s current location in the former Wink Engineering building.

In 2018, Globalstar called off its planned $1.65 billion merger with Fiberlight, a landline company owned by Thermo Capitol, the same company that owns Globalstar
