Our strategic partner ANSYS. I know the Longs remember Brent Stucker.

The first of three releases for 2019, R1 is also the launch of what ANSYS director of additive manufacturing Brent Stucker described as “a big year for ANSYS Additive” when we spoke ahead of the announcement hitting the wire.

I'm hoping for a big year for SGLB as well.

The ANSYS team spent a good amount of time ensuring that the software can provide “not just an estimate of what would happen, but exactly what would” happen with special supports designed in Magics, Netfabb, or other CAD tools. Now, Stucker continued, “we can handle much more effectively geometries that have tiny little supports.”

I believe that we have support to hook into Magics as well.

Major machine manufacturers have already incorporated ANSYS solutions into their 3-D printers, and the company continues to eye solutions to make 3-D printing more reliable. An acquisition announced last week, for example, targets materials intelligence. Upcoming improvements are in process, including a thermal history tool now in beta that functions as a sensor measure tool in Additive Science as many 3-D printers include their own sensors for in-situ monitoring and closed loop control.

Many printers have their own in-situ monitoring; however, PrintRite3D will bring that "objective compliance" solution to the table which is critical and I think SGLB would be a great acquisition for someone like ANSYS. I hope JR holds out for a while though.
