CBDD...Way back, didn't MM have forever to cover so they liked shorting spikes up on BS fluff and enjoy when they went bk and no longer traded so the MM ended up not having to cover. lol..Then it went to where they had to cover shorts in 30 days, so they teamed up to drive it way down to cover....even posted BS like one of us. Now we are asked by boards if we are brokers or MMs. Also, the SEC didn't allow MMs to be in contact with each other during trading hours....and the burner phone was born...lol It was like us against them in the 60's and 70's. What the company was worth didn't matter, it was what the stock price was doing and the sudden vol moves....that was 'DD' then....and maybe a trend Line' broken.lol...Me? I never shorted a stock....I did some 'spreads' on metal futures and puts and calls...it was kinda fun.
