Speaking of waiting for a long time. Reached and passed a personal milestone. As jugs, who has been through his own extreme health challenges and some here know, I had 2 strokes and was diagnosed with AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia back in 2014. I recovered pretty handily from the strokes, but the treatment for Leukemia took me from my former 225lbs through 7 chemos down to 168. Not pretty on a 6'3" frame. Apparently, they didn't give bone marrow transplants to those over 65 which I was. Got into an experimental group started with 10% chance of survival. Busted a leg after chemo was on a walker/wheelchair for 3 months. Started with a Trainer coming to the house weekly, then back to the gym as I progressed with Trainer for 2 years.
Long story they put me into LTFU, Long Term Follow Up, at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance which I just was 'graduated from' 1 year early, as my 4 year anniversary is 2/11/2019 when they usually keep you for 5.
I gained 12lbs in the last 6 months and am back at 218. My moto has always been "That which does not kill me makes me stronger" by Nietzsche.
Thus, I will be enjoying the fruits of our labors and investments here all the more when we have our gala BBQ at jugs Ranch.
