Orygun...We meet again! I converted to a cable modem about 9 months ago and I've never looked back.

Prior to cable modem:
2nd phone line - 22.00
AOL - 21.95
-------
43.95

Average throughput ~7.5 kb/sec

After cable modem:
Cable modem - 39.95
BYO ISP AOL - 9.95
-------
49.90

Average throughput ~600 kb/sec

Around 80 times faster for 6 bucks net more a month. Virtually problem free as well. I couldn't be happier.
