You put way too much confidence into the marketing hyperbole. There is no foregone conclusion that "WE" would have made good money. The BTS figures are out there for all to see just how many people travel JFK-LED each month/year (albeit with a connection).
If the potential is so great, then why hasn't another carrier with solid capital, route and infrastructure EVER served the route? If those numbers were solid, Delta or Aeroflot would be foolish not to consider it.
