Finally got a chance to skim through last week's different alzheimer's news headlines and several on the topic of the "blood brain barrier" really stick out IMO.

It certainly is intuitive that a leaky BBB would possibly allow for toxins and damage in the brain that could trigger plaques to form as a method of protection. The reason I say this is interesting is all the research done on BBB repair and protection conducted on PKCe modulators and specifically bryostatin. In fact when the brain takes a hit or some type of physical trauma, the body reflexively increases pkce levels. If indeed BBB breakdowns are a potential cause for alzheimer's, bryostatin's ability to promote BBB homeostatis would be the first place I would look. Take fwiw.

In fact the NIH has been funding research into the TBI/blood brain barrier repair to the tune of around 300k+ per year.
