Zimmer is bringing ceramics in-house and by bringing Sintx into its fold, it would be able to manufacture. However I doubt it could manufacture at volume the base formulations. That could easily be outsourced to any or all of the main Si3N4 manufactures around the world. Zimmer has the ability to turn the base powder into a slurry or implant.

It Also could start off with things all in house and scale up or outsource as sales expand.

As of now all the evidence points to Zimmer owning the Si3N4 patents in a merger scenario. I dont see that being split at this time.
