Shorting would not matter much for a reverse split, because smart longs would sell, as holding or buying is like hitting the gas petal when your plane is headed for the ground.

Contrary to some, I think the company only does reverse splits as a last resort, but who can prove?

Also really the limping pace of increased outstanding shares is somewhat positive considering the need for money, the exponential increases though, I will remind shares increased 45,000 fold during the 12 month plus convertible. Equivalent share of pie if one started with 45,000 shares was to end up with one share.
