It seems you are missing the point, which was whether or not it is likely that these devices will be allowed to be used outside of the controlled on-board location. IMO, given what appears to be risk of content theft, the one content providers will not allow that.

It is also likely to be why only one studio has agreed to offer content and only about 1/2 to 1/3 of the potential number of movies the device is capable of holding.

If one of these devices is stolen and the content pirated, I would expect even this studio to refuse to offer future content.
