I guess not, but I was hoping that someone who knows something about these things could address that question...that's why I raised the issue.

I'm sure you remember that someone noticed that the originally reported numbers were based on 1)all participants and 2)the higher dosage/every 3 weeks results. The weekly dosage numbers weren't reported and had to be extrapolated (okay, it was a simple subtraction but only a few noticed it). It was only when that was done that it was discovered that the placebo outperformed the drug in the lower/more frequent dosing regimen.

Now the official reported results have been provided in the same way. I was a little surprised to see that, but given that the results were subjected to several rounds of reviews I simply noted:
"I guess they're permitted to leave out a trial arm that doesn't meet an end point when they report results."

It still seems odd to me, but obviously the powers-that-be don't share my sense that one can learn from a failed trial as well as a successful one.
