A better approach would be to tax income and capital gains at a higher rate that have been acquired through super short trading, stock grants and options, etc. Also - if your income plus capital gains or any kind exceed $x,000,000 - the amount over that should ALL be taxed as income.
She may not be aware of how much money wealthy people get through long term capital gains which currently are only taxed at 20%.
