Believe he actually said the opposite of what's being implied in the news. Specifically with cannabis questions by Sen. Kamala Harris, (Dem. Presidential runner).
He did not respond with a negative stance and actually said to Harris's question regarding federal policy that it should be aligned with the states.
The reason being that fragmented state laws could be adopted in other areas, creating a trend that complicates the legal system.
He said he "would not be going after states" that have legalized cannabis. (remember CT, NY and RI just announced plans to legalize rec.), and we all know that genie isn't going back in the bottle.
My take was it was positive without specifics. There was noting I saw that supported he remotely had a negative or hostile agenda regarding cannabis.
