Again sonny wasnt the one that got paid but the research team collectively. Also amedica didnt pay the 2.5m it would have been Zimmer. As far as the 270k payments that is disclosed in the 10k.

1. Zimmer paid 2.5m milestone payment
2. Sonny has a research team developing hip & knee implants utilizing Si3N4.
3. Amedica makes yearly flat payments toward this research.
4. Zimmer donated to Sonnys research team development.
5. North Stadium loan to Amedica was the exact same amount as what Zimmer paid 1-3 months after Zimmer paid it.

Money flow would be:

Zimmer -> research team -> North Stadium -> Amedica -> back to North Stadium -> Research team

Money was never paid directly to Sonny but to the research team. Sonny may lead the team but he wouldnt have been the direct recipient. He would have had to get permission from all major players in research team to loan those funds to Amedica via his Investment company.
