From the AAL investor relations web page:
"On December 6, 2018, the bankruptcy court approved the release of up to 17.5 million shares of AAL common stock from the DCR. These shares will be used to fund capital gain taxes and to make a distribution to former holders of AAMRQ shares. The distribution to former holders of AAMRQ will be made in the first quarter of 2019. A supplemental announcement of the final date and amount of this distribution will be made once that information is finalized."
