breakfast drink of the astronauts: a retraction.

First, I enjoyed many of the posts, skooby, sauce, paulness and arnold in particular. I wish to add my speculation about how they will finance the building even though I really know little about such things.

1. Arnold points out a missing piece of the puzzle. In the contract, the company states they do not now have the money for the payments. Inclined to highlight the possibility of the "worse-case scenario", he is concerned how they will have the money. Inclined to highlight the "best-case scenario", I say "no worries, be happy". The contract never would have been siged with a builder were they not convinced that the company is going to be able to pay when the time comes.

2. Dr. Berens stated that the money will be raised just as the company has traditionally raised funds. Playing Arnold now, I think to myself, "but 3.7 million is a lot of money". How can they raise that much? Earlier, I foolishly resolved the problem here by thinking to myself that perhaps Berens doesn't really know, a Ph.D. scientist egghead who might not be involved with such matters. Compounding my bad judgement here, I contradicted his remarks outright saying they would have to raise money in a different manner (thinking about the sum involved). Upon further reflection, I wish to retract this idea entirely. Am I kidding? Whose signature appears on the GE contract for the reagents if not that of Dr. Berens. This man has a background in running an entire clinical trials process successfully bringing a drug to market. While he might have had his reasons for backing off this topic, surely he is knowledgeable on this matter. (Of course, this is all a guess). If he stated that this is the way the company is planning to raise the money, there is no reason to doubt that such is the case.

The dilemma remains, however. How can the company raise such a figure? While I do have a tendency to see the "best case", the most reasonable possibility at this time is that they have something up their sleeve about which we do not know. The players involved, however, DO know. When it is revealed, all the confusion will fall away. Of course, this is deduction only. I have no idea what it might be. (I wish I did). Tang, breakfast drink of the astronauts.
