Graham Arnold has rung the changes for the Socceroos' clash with Palestine (kick-off 10pm AEDT) in a bid to keep their Asian Cup defence alive.
Maligned star Robbie Kruse has copped the axe, dropping back to the bench in one of three changes from the XI which slumped to a shock 1-0 defeat to Jordan in the Socceroos' opening match of the tournament.
In his place is Perth Glory winger Chris Ikonomidis, who joins Jamie MacLaren in the frontline of a team which desperately needs more spark from its goalkeepers.
Also gone is midfielder Massimo Luongo, who makes way for Jackson Irvine.
Rhyan Grant also earns a call-up, taking advantage of the injury to right back Josh Risdon.
Australia's hopes of finishing top of their group were all but ended by Jordan backing up their Socceroos' victory with a 2-0 win in Al Ain, meaning the Socceroos are pushing for second spot.
