I haven't really dug deep into this but I think I remember connecting it back to some materials company talking about NASA and medical SINI. Probably lots of application for a lighter weight radiation shielding than lead. Whatever applications they have for the properties of SIALON I`m surmising it's out of the stage of development and in the world of applying it to things. Probably things they dont want us declaring. Probably security through obscurity in the arms race of material engineers.
