Very interesting...and very informative.
AND I found the answer to the question the consultant refused to answer.
“Ingredients: Gum base, Maltitol, Sorbitol, Xylitol, Isomalt, Natural flavors, Vegetarian magnesium stearate, Silicon dioxide, Stevia. Contains traces of hemp seed oil and sunflower oil.”

Any products with Xylitol in them should be kept out of reach of dogs.

I do this by not purchasing products with Xylitol.
