Thanks, Rodman. It really is simple. Better product, lower cost, mass production.

Here is the best part - QD LED are ready for SSL - Solid State Lighting LEDs.
Phosphor LEDs are made and used now.
QD LED would be brighter, lower cost and have a wide color gamut for better white lights.
You don't even have to change any manufacturing machines. It is just a matter of substituting a disc or dome with QD coating instead of phosphors.
At some time in the future the QD will be made to be electroluminescent by being inside the diode instead of on top of it.

My point is that while the Display industry might be huge, the SSL industry is probably 5x to 10x larger per year, and QMC already has the revolutionary next-gen product for it.
Funniest thing is that the DOE has a SSL R&D workshop coming up soon, and if you look at their agenda, there is no mention of quantum dots! I sent their organizer the QMC QD LED 91% REC2020 PR and they told me their agenda is set. It is a little myopic, IMO.

The biggest Quantum Dot industry will be QDSC. Hypothetically, for comparison, If the QD Display market has a 10-yr future, and the QD SSL market has a 20-30 year future (QD LED will last longer than you will so no need for replacements. After 100% of bulbs are replaced first time, SSL market will depend on new growth only). Quantum Dot Solar Cell business will go on at least to 2050, or 30 or more years in the future, while producing units at maximum production speed. The need for Solar is measured in Terrawatts, or thousands of Gigawatts, and the best projections by the global warming watchers are that Solar will only account for about 16% of the amount needed in 2050. Noone is factoring in revolutionary QDSC, instead all are looking at incremental improvements in Silicon Panel tech and Thin-Films which are much more costly than QMC QDSC which will be the LCOE - lowest cost of energy.

$5+? LOL: Think Bigger!
