Rich and handsom or fat and broke... The credibility of GJ's disclosures is so low that I don't care to think about what may be correct or false.
Communicate with him as much as you care. From the standpoint of this message board, my trust in your integrity is limitless and I wouldn't doubt for a second that you won't reveal anything about the existence of this board or who's posting there. - Only, dpb, don't do it because you feel you have to ("I will continue the burden of "entertaining his delusions").
Understand, dpb, that what GJ really need, only professionals can give him! Be happy that those professionals can and do (we are allowed to expect) see to it that he doesn't feel any pain. Do not expect, therefore, that GJ himself will show any true remorse - I personally doubt he is capable of feeling any, nor see his own wrongdoings, nor do I care to hear any excuses from him. He likely couldn't help himself anyway.
Finally, I'd like to aware you that the best thing for GJ himself, may be to forget all about the existence of DIG board and the members it had. The best for him might be to let this disappear into the foggy haze of his mind, and so, maybe it'd be better for him if you simply sease to exist and leave him alone to forget and get on with his life and medication.
In short: I'm not convinced that you're doing GJ a favor by communicating with him...
