Had a very smart security analyst friend years ago say "all stocks go to zero eventually." He pointed out that the world's oldest corporation, which was in Switzerland I think, was only about 400 years old. Very few others back then exceeded a century.

But some American stocks now have very long histories of paying and increasing dividends. Over 100 years. And many Dow 30 stocks from the 1920s are still doing great.
