I weighed ~ 156 lbs in 1956-7 when 1st diagnosed and treated for Type-1 diabetes. My highest weight since 1957 was 187 lbs for many years. At 81, my weight now has returned to 156-8 lbs, correlating with ~40% reduction in insulin I now inject each day(less insulin, less carbs ingested at evening meal; otherwise, my diet remains the same as that designed by the Evanston Hosp. and NWU School of Medicine in 1957 to maintain the ideal weight I then had at age 19). My health remains stable, and my risk from CVD remains optimally suppressed, all as described above.
