Paul Kemal Wins 2006 Aussie Race Cars Series

Paul Kemal has won the 2006 Aussie Racing Cars Series after placing 7 th in the final race at Surfers Paradise last weekend, while Kyle Clews was victorious in the round after Kemal literally slipped his way out of round contention.
Conditions were anything but ideal for the pocket rockets as a downpour of rain hit the Gold Coast 10 minutes prior to the final race of the Series.

Kemal took a commanding lead early in the race, relishing the slippery conditions as the rest of the field struggled to keep up.

A mid-race Safety Car period brought about by Nick Simmons hitting the wall closed the field up and left oil on the circuit.

Kemal pulled another gap as the race neared its completion but was caught out by oil at one of the chicanes and ran off the track.

He rejoined the race, albeit a few positions down as the front pack scrambled for race glory.

A number of front runners struggled with the oil on the circuit as Nick Percat carved his way through the field from grid 39 to take victory in the six lap race.

Another hard-charger, James Ward, finished second after starting from grid 23 with Kyle Clews picking up third and the round victory. Sheridan Phillips was fourth on the track and third for the round.

It’s a fantastic result for Paul and Martini Racing Products. Paul uses Martini Sint Lubricants, GS610 “Indy Car” Brake fluid available from Martini and has employed a Martini Competition Fluids Management Program designed by Martini Managing Director Tony Cuschieri.
