Probably so. Does it matter that in this case the drug would be prescribed in anticipation of a disease that might be contracted and not to treat an existing disease?
I guess I'm startled by what seems to be total freedom on the part of a doctor to prescribe an approved drug for ANYTHING that they feel might be an appropriate use. I know you folks are smart, but you're human, too. Sounds as if the FDA, other than as regards safety issues that might reveal themselves in off-label uses (when it's too late), turns the ball entirely over to you in terms of efficacy decisions once a drug is approved. Do I have that right?
