rookie question but could someone please explain why after hours trading and pre-market activity don't seem to amount to jack squat when the market opens? I've read that it's important to note these things but after seeing +30%, or -30%, and then no reflection of these adjustments when trading begins, I fail to see the point in any of it.

For instance KGKG shows +19.54% up after hours Friday after our red day and will probably show more gain pre-market Monday morning but to what effect?
