I had not thought of that. That makes the most sense of any analysis on this board in ages. I don't think he knew for sure Amgen would dump, but the writing was on the wall as he was talking to them all the time. Without AXAL and NEO, all they would have is HOT, which is not even dosed yet. He had to give the shareholders some fantasy of a pipeline. He also knew he couldn't justify the cost of the AXAL wind down with absolutely no source of income and no paying partnerships (sorry Merck doesn't count")
