Wade, here is an article that explains how they establish the closing price of Nasdaq listed stocks:

With the market acting as lousy as it has lately, getting rid of anything you're long at the end of the day has been the way to go recently. There were probably lots of market on close sell orders today across the market.

I have seen lots of $1 stocks with strong earnings and solid balance sheets triple, quadruple and more, but I have yet to see one go below zero.
