Surgeon General Jerome Adams spoke at Addiction Recovery Institute conference in Massachusetts on the opioid crisis. As it is classified now as a Schedule 1 substance along with heroin, LSD & MDMA, it's status as a schedule I substance is hindering much needed scientific research vital to determining it's usefulness as a medicine to treat plethora of ailments and even serious diseases.
