Good morning folks..so this morning ive been giving God a little bit of praise and worship..you know..trying to get the day off on the right foot. And i was just singing that tune..."Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before..everyday with Jesus i love Him more and more"..and i was thinking..all of us that are born-again believers..we like that song..right..but lets put the brakes on for a minute and come to a screeching halt. Read those words again and think on it for just a minute. What is going on in your life right now..and of course im talking about the circumstances that are on the negative side of the scale...is today knowing Jesus sweeter than the day before..or..are we letting life and our problems drag us down..and secondly..through those things in our life..trials and tribulations..whatever it may be..do we really love Jesus more then we did yesterday? It seems we often times sing those old hymns and the newer Jesus music..and we just sing at the top of our lungs and we get those warm and fuzzes..but I have to wonder...sometimes are we really hearing what were singing? One example of that is i often times when im singing "I Surrender All"...what an awesome heart touching tune that is...but as im singing it i often think..and as righteous as i feel..at the moment i say to God as im singing...you know Lord...i really havent surrender all...another example..."It Is Well with My Soul"...and there again those warm and fuzzes but are things really all Well with My Soul? Whats pulling me back..whats holding me down..whats keeping me from being who God wants me to be? What chains are yet to be broken that i truly can take up my cross and follow Jesus. So many awesome Christ-centered words to so many Christ-centered songs and again...when we sing them and we get those warm and fuzzes...are we truly living those words or are we just getting caught up in the moment? Think about it...because as we know...there aint no pulling the wool over Jesus eyes..right?..and our singing is praise and worship to our creator!....Y'all have an awesome and blessed day!
