Not who you're asking but I`ll post since I can give you my answer.

I invest with a larger time frame in mind. I figure when news hits it's too late and you're buying above RSI at that point and look for tech. that the "normies" are not aware of on a mass scale to try to get in long before lightning strikes, below the RSI value. Wait for news to hit, it goes above RSI from hype then I drop it for an overvalued price where I guess the market makers are dumping.

Take AMD for instance. Look at the chart. 2016 is where you should have gotten in around $2. The catalyst here was infinity architecture and 10 NM and a bunch of other factors, but this is boring and hard to understand. If you where focused here on the tech.. July 2016 after Q2 ER. This is where MSNBC and Cramer started mouthing off. Feeding frenzy occurred and its time to dump. Pain initiates for war of attrition on the bag holders lasting until april 2018 where it drops back to 10. Sept. 14 2018 is time to dump the 10's for 30 and play the game again on bag holders. What is proper RSI here? given the tech developments vs the markets booms and busts? hindsight being 20/20.
