It was a nominal market order placed buy an individual that wished to take a tax loss but has been incapable of selling on the ask to close out the position. In order to take a capital loss against the capital gain, you need to close out your position. Because this stock has no bid, there are no market-makers willing to purchase at any price, so your stockbroker has a relationship with certain market makers that will, as a courtesy, purchase the stock from the broker client at a price close to zero. That's all that happened today and you're going to be seeing a lot more of this until the end of the year
