Yeah, i'm surprised that the CNN Fear-Greed gauge still shows the volatility parameter "neutral," while the other six parameters are all in "extreme fear," though the volatility parameter seems to be on the verge of shifting over to at least "fear."

The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) is at 21.77. This is a neutral reading and indicates that market risks appear low. Last changed Oct 30 from a Fear rating

This is the only reason why that Fear-Greed gauge isn't already down at 3, 2, or 1. (Can it go to zero??? Ha!)


Fwiw, the VXX is already over 40, and the 2x leveraged TVIX is over 53 (it touched near or over 60 a few times in the past two months).
