I remember when Zweig predicted the 1987 crash on the Wall St Week TV show (Louis Rukeyser). If I remember correctly it was the Friday before the Monday crash. He really nailed it, saying that while he believed there would be a sharp crash, it wouldn't be the start of a bear market, just temporary, which is exactly what happened.

I used to watch that show every week. One thing I remember about Zweig was that he had humility and seemed flexible and pragmatic -
