OT: interesting aside... my firefox beta 2.0 won't let me post replies in Ihub, but any other board I visit has no problem... I have to use IE to post in IHUB... ihub prob or firefox?????
Visited Troy, Michigan Circuit City. Found Gnf cases next to xbox 360 stuff... this time 12 cases... and I counted 5 of the pre marked cases by me still there... no ad in this weeks flier on counters, out of rotation this week perhaps, or didn't see it when looking through one at counter.... no in store ads or fliers either. No signs at doors, in other words no in store advertising seen this trip. Huge push for their Firedog service stuff though. Talked to 2 sales people at a firedog counter... asked about gnf, said I saw it on website and was interested... neither knew about product, one walked around with me looking for it. I had scoped it out when I first came in, but I had to point it out to sales guy. He said, wow, didn't know we had anything like that. At the counter, I asked how much CC charged to rent movies... he said, oh we don't do that yet.
In all my visits now, I've come away convinced more than ever that Gnf is just another, nothing special vendor product to be scanned and stuck on a peg anywhere there's an opening. When I worked at a Meijer Gas station, assistant manager, we had a boatload of vendors just taking up space, filling their own stock and most on modified consignment gigs. Look around CC, way too many brands and products to even think of focused, trained point of sell by any sales staff. That's just plain silly in a electronic/appliance store....
