10:00a Atlanta Fed's Business Inflation Expectations 2.3% vs 2.2% prior
Highlights
Year-ahead inflation expectations for the business sector are up 1 tenth this month to 2.3 percent and back at expansion highs also hit in April and October of this year. December's gain isn't dramatic and is not confirmed by last week's reading on the consumer sector from the University of Michigan which edged down 1 tenth to 2.7 percent. These results are modest at most but the trends for each are on a gradual upward path, one that won't escape the notice of the Federal Reserve which strongly stresses the central importance that inflation expectations remain well anchored.
