great comment. A short seller report in simply a position and it happens to be a sell reco. Unless they did something illegal what is the big deal. The information on the and sale of assets and then resale to the company is terribly disturbing and will wait to see how that is explained.

I worked for a company in the 90s - Short story was we bought 20 million worth of stuff from a foreign company. turns out the VP that negotiated that deal owned the chinese company we were buying from - he was buying it first and then reselling back to us.

He and the other insider involved led out in handcuffs and paraded a bit on the way out through all the cubicles. I see little different here.
