Reminds me of someone in England who had this plastic formula which would not burn, but he never marketed the product (plenty of demos) because he feared the "magic" formula would be stolen. It was not even written down -- but the complex formula was memorized by that one person.

Fantastic invention and with military applications (e.g. inside tanks), but the guy was so afraid of it being stolen.
