I actually prefer they just license the patent. For instance Debeers licenses the rights to produce diamonds and diamonds only. They can maximize the value of the patent and the myriad different technological advances it can spawn that way. Want to make computers chips with the technology - cha ching. Etc. I know they are going into manufacturing and I am not real keen on that. Just let others handle the manufacturing. After you have established license rights with a few technologies then you can consider but outs but those buy outs will be forced to factor in the future value. Right now they can negotiate price based on a single application easier. Get a few licensees for different applications and you force a buyer to pay best price. JMO
