I'm less than a decade behind you - but each year, on a percentage basis, I'm catching up!

I hold 'rainy day' cash in my portfolio and use it when unlikely discounts suddenly present themselves. I, too, don't expect to see that extra discount materialize as it has been almost three years since EPD's price dipped that low. (that coincided with the market low of 2016, btw)

At this point in my life, the only cash I have to invest for opportunistic buying is self-generated (through opportunistic selling). It's not my way to borrow $$$ to invest on margin. My timing isn't that good.
