Why does a multi billion dollar company choose to do a reverse merger? (I realize it's not a multi-billion dollar company). The same reason Google and Facebook did IPO's (initial public offerings - ie: went public); to expand and increase profitability. Doing a reverse merger is one (cheaper) way to take a privately held company and go public in order to access public capital. What would they do with the $$$ they raise? Buy out more and larger companies, for one. Become a worldwide leader in their field by mergers and acquisitions.
