Usually, a US company will be awarded a patent then use that to gain coverage in another country. I am an inventor on several patents and that is what my research team did.

I did find a list of Rock Creek patents on the following site: https://patents.justia.com/assignee/rock-creek-pharmaceuticals-inc

On another site, it appears that PM controls at least the synthesis: https://patents.google.com/patent/US8207346B2/en
