As you folks know the little things that i write in the mornings...i often use myself as an example..because..who do i know better than myself...and who better to give a hard time than the person that i look at in the mirror. So...in using myself as an example sometimes it may come off a little bit like im all holier than thou or doing a better job in my walk...but...im here to tell you this morning and ive said it here before...i have yet to walk on water and im pretty sure on this side of Eternity that aint never going to happen. Yes..ole Rick Sane still has some rough edges and from time to time i tend to fall short...meaning...i embarace sin and even though in my mind it dont amount to much...i know that in Gods eyes sin is sin...right? With that said...a friend posted a devotional a couple days ago and in it it had part of a song..."Holy Holy Holy, Lord God Almighty, Early in the morning my song shall rise to thee"....So once again at the risk of sounding all holier than thou. When I wake in the mornings and i verify that im still alive...usually before i even open my eyes and as simple as this is...i say...Father God..i thank you for another day of good health and strength..i thank you for your protection through the night and i ask You to help me live this day according to your will..not mine..help me Father to turn my back to sin. Then i get up and while im going thru my morning routine of getting the cobwebs out and getting my first cup of coffee ready i tend to find myself singing those old hymns...sometimes just humming them in my head...sometimes singing out loud and rejoicing to the Lord...because...i know from scripture that when we sing any worship songs we are lifting up praise and worship and glory to Him and He loves our singing...a love song of praise and worship to my heavenly Father right off the bat in the morning! Then ill spend a little time on the back porch and ill come in and sit down at the computer and i start my morning time with Jesus..through scripture and devotionals and the little things that I write and put on here. You see folks...when we get up in the mornings and we start our day out...building on and embracing that personal relationship that we have with Jesus...it just gets the day off on the right foot . I want to start each day acknowledging the Son shining in my life whether the sun is shining or not. Y'all have a awesome and blessed day!
