And I'll be picking Tiger to win the Hero World Challenge too.

Doubt I will pony up $20 to watch the match with Phil though.

I lived in CA in 1999 when #1 Tiger went against #2 Duval in the "Showdown at Sherwood". Aug 2nd Monday night primetime event. (They only had to light up the last two holes as it didn't get dark until then.)

Lucky for me, one of my golf buddies boss was a member at Sherwood and he didn't feel like going so he gave his free passes to me and my friend. Butch Harmon and company were there. Tiger took the event very seriously and showed up the day before to play a practice round on the course.

Tiger started at the putting green and then moved to the Driving Range.

In his Driving range warmup I was struck by the surgical precision he hit every club in the bag. He would hit 5 or 6 balls with each club starting with wedge and working up to driver. Every group of balls would end up in a nice little cluster close to each other. Even with the driver! Beautiful high straight shots that would fall gently with a very slight fade at the end.

Duval started at the Range and then finished with putting so I didn't see his warmup routine.

Now back then that would have been a match worth paying to see and it was free. This thing with Phil? I dun theenks so Queeks Draw.
