You should probably use neither time period. From what I could tell (and I haven't thought about it for a few years) that number just looks at what is bought or sold during the time the market is open for trading. If share price changes overnight it doesn't count.

I've often noticed that stocks can fall and even plummet even though a board pumper can honestly claim: The stock is "under accumulation."

Depending on whether daily, weekly, monthly or whatever period of time is used, the Accumulation/Distribution numbers will vary wildly, as you have noticed.

I see that you posted your question on other IHUB boards. I doubt anyone else will answer. I've NEVER been able to engage any so-called IHUB charting expert on this topic. They have no idea what it means either! But they'll drag out the mumbo jumbo concept when needed to pump a favorite scam stock.
