I have been through a split before and sometimes it takes a 1-3 days for your brokerage to adjust the changes. Most times your shares you own will be locked up and can not be traded until the changes are made. Of course you can purchase more shares though but to sell you would have to call in and talk to someone. Most likely you ask for the corporate action resolution department if the regular rep can not help you with your trade.
